I am an educator and fierce advocate for all students. Before moving to Orland Park, I lived in Palos Hills and attended Amos Alonzo Stagg High School—where I have now been teaching for over 14 years. I earned my bachelor's degree from UIC and my Master’s in Educational Leadership (Type 75) from Olivet Nazarene University. Throughout my career, I have taught a wide range of courses, coached basketball, and co-sponsored Youth and Government. I take pride in the strong relationships I have built with the community, administration, students, and staff.
Now, I am ready to give back to my community in a new way—by running for the Palos School Board District 118. District 118 is ranked in the top 10% of schools, which is one of the many reasons my family and I chose to live within the district. With exceptional programs like ALPs and Enrichment, I am confident that my children—along with all students in the district—will have the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.
I bring a unique perspective to the board, having taught at one of District 118’s feeder schools for over 14 years, giving me first hand insight into what students really need. I bring an invaluable, unique and diverse perspective that has been missing from the conversation. As an educator and advocate for all students, I understand the diverse needs of our community. My experience working closely with students, families, and administration equips me to ensure that every voice is heard and that every child receives the support they need to succeed. Representation matters, and I am committed to ensuring every student has the opportunities and resources needed to succeed.
As a parent with children in the district, I am deeply invested in ensuring an efficient and engaging curriculum that reflects the values and needs of our community. My passion for education and advocacy drives my commitment to fostering a school environment where all students can thrive. I am also dedicated to advocating for strong special education initiatives that provide every student with the support, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive.
Beyond my career, I have been married for ten years and have two wonderful children—who keep me busy with activities like soccer and swimming. While I am a dedicated mother, I also strive to be a role model for my kids, showing them the importance of leadership, representation, and service.
My decision to run for the school board came as no surprise to those who know me. Rooted in advocacy, I am committed to amplifying student voices and addressing the pressing issues that impact students, teachers, and families. With my experience, passion, and dedication, I am ready to make a meaningful difference in Palos School District 118.
